To ensure your flat bottom bag stays in its best shape, avoid overstuffing it and make sure your zipper is straight as you open it! 

Remember, the more you use your bag, the more the zipper will loosen up over time. But if you find yourself with a stuck zipper, you can try to get it unstuck by adding some sort of lubricant to the teeth above and below the zipper if possible. The lubricant can be a bar of soap, wax, or even a graphite pencil. Just a little should help!
